Residential Services

Our range of services include everything our residents need to feel comfortable while staying with us.

Our staff are fully trained and competent in their area of work. Training is applied regularly to different sections of the workforce to ensure that our services are of the highest standard.

Laundry

Laundry ServicesAll laundry is done on the premises and every care is taken with resident’s personal clothing.

Individual needs for dry cleaning can be arranged through the Nurse Managers. There are laundry facilities in each Low Care area if residents wish to do their own washing.

Hairdressing

Both facilities have a hairdressing salon where you may have you hair cut or permed for modest cost with staff hairdressers.

You may make arrangements for your own Hairdresser to visit you if required.

Podiatry

We have a Registered Nurse on staff who looks after feet in a gentle way – any complicated podiatry requirements are referred to a qualified Podiatrist.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapist & Occupational Therapist. These therapists are employed by the Facilities to assess your needs, provide tailored therapy and to advise Nursing Staff on ongoing therapy.

Fees and Charges

Incoming bonds or charges are determined by the level of care, your income and assets. All fees you will be asked to pay will be in accordance with the Aged Care Act 1997 and the Residential Aged Care Subsidy Principles 1997. In a situation where one member of a couple enters care the family home is not counted as an asset.

Fees and charges will be discussed just prior to admission. Financial agreements between the resident and the facility must be arranged, agreed and signed within seven (7) days of admission.

Meals

MealsAll meals and refreshments are based on surveys which the Food Services Department undertakes with all residents and their families and in keeping with the dietary needs and wishes of residents. The menus offer a varied, healthy and well-balanced nutritional diet. Advice is regularly obtained from the Dietician at the Launceston General Hospital.

The menus rotate each four weeks and are reviewed twice a year (for summer and winter). All meals are prepared in the Main Kitchen at the Masonic Peace Haven.
